The KwaZulu-Natal Tourism & Film Authority, a statutory authority responsible for the promotion, marketing, and development of tourism and film in KwaZulu-Natal, invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following position:

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER (Ref: CEO/2025 Grade: E5, Salary: R2 200 000 pa)

Job Purpose: To provide strategic leadership and direction in the development and implementation of the KwaZulu-Natal Tourism and Film Authority’s vision and strategy towards optimised institutional efficiencies, financial sustainability and longer-term value for, and transformation of the tourism sector and the film industry.
Requirements: A post graduate qualification (NQF 8). A Master’s degree (NQF 9) is an added advantage. A minimum of 10 years experience in the tourism industry, with 5 years at an executive management level. Knowledge of the legislation and regulations that govern the Public Service. Experience in performance monitoring, evaluation and reporting frameworks, systems, and processes. Organisational transformation and turnaround experience. A proven track record in providing strategic leadership with the ability to inspire and unite a workforce around a shared vision. Familiarity with the government reporting processes and financial management regime. Experience in managing the reporting relationship with a Board, Shareholder, Executive Council and Legislature.

Key performance areas: Organisational management and governance. Lead the development and implementation of the KwaZulu-Natal Tourism and Film strategy, drive the business model and strategy of the organisation. Create the optimal working environment in the implementation of the strategy. Drive stakeholder management. Enable resource capacity – human and financial. Staff management and development. Change management. Financial management and compliance oversight.
