Council of the eThekwini Municipality received the Mid-Year Performance Assessment Report which reflected the Municipality’s service delivery performance for the first six months of the 2024/2025 financial year.
Drawing courage from an unqualified audit opinion obtained from the Auditor-General South Africa (AGSA) 2023/2024 financial year, the report also highlights a good performance by one of the leading City owned entities. These entities bolster investor confidence into the City’s economy. The Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre (ICC) achieved 84.62%, and the Durban Marine Theme Park achieved 85.71% during the same assesment period.
The ICC is a leading Events Complex composed of an Arena , a five star hotel, a convention and exhibition centre.
uShaka Marine Work is a world class attraction, situated on Durban’s Golden Mile. uShaka offers non-stop fun with key offerings being the Sea World , Wet and Wild and uShaka Beach.
For continued pursuit of excellence in performance and to address challenges experienced , the City has introduced key initiatives :
1. Budget Planning Improvements.
2. Establishment of a Workforce Planning Committee and
3. Implementation of Mid-year Amendment process.
